21 Beavers joined up with Beavers from across Arundel & Littlehampton on Saturday 22nd October for a spooky Halloween themed sleepover at the Sports Dome, Littlehampton.
The beavers took part in craft, games, disco and animal interaction, before a takeaway dinner. After which they were joined by Badges the Beaver for a special 30th Birthday cake and film before bed.
All had a fantastic time, our thanks to the District Team for organising it….. looking forward to more nights away events in the future.

22 Beavers and Cubs had a fantastic day out at Drusillas Park as part of the Arundel & Littlehampton District Beavers30 celebrations. Take a look at all the animals we met and fun we had!
23 Beavers from Barnham and Walberton joined 250 other beavers for a fun pack day exploring the Museum. They made wooden woggles, put up a tent, had a go at printing, went on a nature walk and much more. Everyone enjoyed all the activities but the Beavers said the train and bus ride were the best!
Thank you to everyone that attended our Pinewood Derby & AGM.
Congratulation to those Beavers, Cubs & Scout who won either the ‘Best Design’ or ‘Fastest Car’ competition. There were lost of great designs; take a look at the event album to see them in action!
Our thanks to those volunteers standing down, continuing and joining the Group Executive Committee. Key roles confirmed today:
Mark Guy – Group Scout Leader
Nicky Pouler – Group Chairman
Kirsti Longland – Group Secretary
Marilou Elphinstone – Group Treasurer
This year, we thought we’d try and be more environmentally friendly so only a limited number of printed documents will be available at our AGM on Saturday 18th June 2016. Please find below the two key documents, our Annual Report and Annual Accounts, for your review prior to the meeting.
This week your child will be starting to make a Pinewood Derby Car. They will be coming home with a lump of wood, wheels etc and instructions!
The cars will then be judged and raced at our AGM on Saturday 18th June. Please come along and support this event. Rolls Royce will also be bringing a car along to show.
Please can you make a cake to bring along and share?
We are also looking for a couple of parents to join our Executive Committee. The committee meets approximately 4 times a year and manages how the group is run and how the finances are spent. If you are interested in joining us, please speak to either Mark Guy or Nicky Poulter. Details about being an Executive Committee member can be found here.
Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you on 18th June.
Over 80 members of the Group joined us at Cobnor Activity Centre, Chidham between 29th May and 2nd June for our Circus themed camp. With Beavers camping one night, Cubs for 3 nights and Scouts for 4 nights.
A fantastic time was had by all, despite the challenging weather! As a result of high winds the Cubs and Scouts were unable to undertake the water activities as planned, alternatives were quickly provided by the Cobnor team instead.
So many activities were enjoyed over the course of camp, far too many to mention here!

65 beavers, cubs, scouts, leaders and parents joined us for this year’s Jamboree On The Trail (JOTT) Hike, starting and ending in Burpham.
With an option of two routes, most of the group embarked on a 8.3 mile hike from Burpham north to the South Downs Walk, climbing up to the triangulation point at 193 metres and back. Those with shorter legs walked 5 ish miles, looking out for geocaches along the way.
Over 100 members of the Group joined together with approximately 700 other Scouts for across Arundel & Littlehampton Scout District for this years St George’s Day service and parade in Arundel.
As ‘Duty’ Group, 1st Barnham led the parade with Scouts and Cubs forming the main colour party, followed by our fantastic St George and his tamed dragon. Once inside Arundel Cathedral our focus turned to coordinating the service and our ‘100 years of Cub Scouts’ performance.
The day was a fantastic success, a massive thank you to everybody who helped – whether it was making cakes, serving refreshments, marshalling, moving chairs, transporting equipment, making props, carrying props or reading in the service.
We’ve received lots of great feedback from other groups and the invited guests. So well done to you all!
